Commercial Kitchen Pull Alarm
Commercial Kitchen Pull Alarm
Half Fire Alarm, Half Grenade
The manual actuation devices, or "pull alarm," in a commercial kitchen is key.
The actuation device protects the kitchen from grease fires begun beneath the cooking surface. Specific guidelines govern their placement:
- The device must exist near the means of egress.
- The device must be installed 42-48" above the floor.
- The device must be installed 10-20' away from the cooking surface.
- The device must clearly indentify the hazard areas it protects.
